The Paolo Scavino winery is located in Castiglione Falletto, in the Langhe region, and was founded in 1921 thanks to the work of Paolo who, as the owner of some vineyards in the area, began bottling his own Barolo. With the passing of time and generation after generation, the company has grown trying to enhance the absolute protagonist of all times: the Barolo.

The birth of the company's first cru was thanks to Paolo's young son, Enrico, who convinced his father to vinify the grapes from the Fiasco vineyard separately from the others, which were always the best each year. This is how Barolo Bric del Fiasc was born, whose grapes come from vineyards composed of fossil marls, known locally as tov, a percentage of sand mixed with clay, which are ideal for the perfect cultivation of the grapes.

The other vineyards have equally suitable soils, such as the famous Cannubi vineyard. Scavino is today one of the most renowned producers of Barolo: it produces about 120,000 bottles a year, making wine only from its own grapes from 29 hectares spread over 20 historic cru in Castiglione Falletto, Barolo, La Morra, Serralunga d'Alba, Verduno, Roddi and Novello. The company produces authentic and territorial wines, the result of passion and love for their work and land of origin.

Do you know what a vintage wine really is? Vintage wine is not to be considered as a product to be tasted, but as an emotion to give that brings with it the memories of a past time. It is first and foremost a collector's work, with high antiques value and only later, if you are lucky, a wine to taste.
