GUIBERTEAU
Domaine Guiberteau produces Loire wines in the Saumur area, an area in contrast to the rest of the region (famous for its great Sauvignons) where Chenin Blanc reigns supreme.
The domaine is 9.4 hectares, 7 of which are in the great terroir of Brézé. Just over half of the area is planted to Chenin and the rest to Cabernet Franc. The age of the vines varies from 4 to 80 years, with a high proportion of old vines. In 2000, Romain converted the vineyards to organic management and in 2003 began the process towards AB organic certification, obtaining it in 2007.
In just a few years, the wines of Domaine Guiberteau have attracted the attention of the great international critics, making it one of the most sought-after Domaines in Saumur.
More
Absolutely one of the most beautiful Domaine of the whole Loire: the wines of Guiberteau are unforgettable for purity and expression of the terroir.
The estate is located 12 km south of Saumur in the village of Saint-Just-sur-Dive, wines of denomination Saumur have been produced since 1996.
Only two varieties of grapes are grown: 6 hectares of Cabernet Franc and 8.5 hectares of Chenin. The vineyard extends over the municipalities of Montreuil-Bellay (2.2 ha on deep clayey soils), Brézé (7 ha on clayey-calcareous soils) and Bizay (5.3 ha on clayey-calcareous soils). The vines are between 4 and 80 years old.

RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION
The Domaine has been in organic farming since 2003: the land is worked under the rows and all the synthetic products are banned: only sulfur, copper and the decoctions of the plants are used.
Only the minimum amount of sulfur required is used. The wines are then bottled before being marketed. The average production is 60,000 bottles.
